Hand Type: Calligraphy vs Lettering

This video by Hand Type on YouTube demonstrates the differences between calligraphy and lettering. Both are hand drawn, but while lettering can contain calligraphic type it involves more planning than execution. Lettering is typically sketched with pencil and follows some sort of arrangement or grid. Calligraphy is more execution, you need to execute the same movements over and over until you get the perfect or preferred specimen. Enjoy.
